This Friday, Carlo Ancelotti previewed tomorrow’s duel between his team, Real Madrid, and Almería (6:30 pm), at a press conference where he took the opportunity to join Pep Guardiola in criticizing the calendar overload, lamenting that UEFA chooses to increase the number of games “to make more money”.
“How can you not agree with what Guardiola said? They try to improve the quality of the show by putting more quantity. But to increase the quantity, the quality decreases. They want to increase the quantity to earn more money, that is the problem. Those most affected are the players, who suffer more injuries and can’t give everything they have. I don’t know when this will change”, began by referring to the Italian who, in the same vein, took the opportunity to talk about the two serious injuries that Courtois e Éder Militão sufferedboth on the knee.
“It’s very difficult to know why this happens. You have to evaluate a lot of things. Militão was very well in terms of strength. Courtois, the same. There was no reason to worry in that sense. It was bad luck”, he added.
Asked about the power of Saudi teams in this transfer market, Ancelotti left a warning. “They are spending a lot of money to improve the championship. They have the right to do so, as long as they are within the rules of financial fair play…”, he concluded.
Real Madrid will be on the pitch tomorrow, Saturday, on their visit to Almeria, scheduled for 6:30 pm.
