The Impact of Almonds on Weight Loss: Insights from Australian Research

That appears from Australian research. Losing weight is not a direct result of eating almonds; the result has everything to do with the effect that eating almonds has on the diet.

For example, the study shows that after eating a handful of almonds at their next meal, people eat 72 fewer calories than if they had previously consumed a snack that largely consists of carbohydrates, but contains the same number of calories.

Satiety feeling

Thanks to the satiating feeling they provide, almonds effectively contribute to reducing cravings. This is due to the fact that they are packed with proteins, carbohydrates and fiber. An additional advantage is that almonds contain numerous vitamins and minerals, such as iron, vitamin E and vitamin B12. A handful of nuts a day also reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by as much as 30 percent. It is not without reason that almonds are among the healthiest nuts available.

“Our research looked at how nuts, specifically almonds, help reduce cravings,” explains researcher Sharaya Carter from the University of South Australia. “Overweight and obesity are a major public health problem. Reducing cravings through a better hormonal response may be the key to a healthier weight.”

You may think 72 calories doesn’t sound spectacular. But if you consume less of this daily, you will still have ‘saved’ more than 2000 calories at the end of the month. Eating a handful of nuts per day, in concrete terms about 30 to 50 grams, can actually contribute to a healthy way of losing weight.

Do you already know the Brazil nut? For this reason you should eat two every day:
