A delegation from the Monetary and International Fund will carry out an economic mission to Libreville from January 23 to February 6 where it will meet the president of the transition and certain members of the government.
Gabon has revitalized its partnership with the International Monetary Fund. To this end, during its 15-day stay, the IMF delegation will, under Article 4 of its statutes, take stock of Gabon’s financial and economic situation. A meeting between the Prime Minister and members of the government was held in order to better coordinate exchanges with experts from this financial institution.
For Raymond Ndong Sima, who hopes that this meeting with the experts can be a success, it was a question of recalling, during this working session, the commitment of his team and its desire to implement the various economic and financial reforms contained in the roadmap presented by the CTRI. He also invited them to be professional and to emphasize transparency in the exchanges that will take place with the IMF.
Remember that the partnership between the IMF and Gabon had not been respected. Because, out of 6 reviews, only 2 were made. This situation led the IMF to suspend the continuation of the 3rd review, resulting in the cessation of financing for several priority government projects.
