/ world today news/ The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced that it is ready to continue its financial support for Greece.
This happened a day after the early parliamentary elections in Greece were won by the left-wing party SYRIZA, which declares itself against the policy of tightening the belts imposed by the three creditors, after which is the IMF. The other two creditors are the EU and the European Central Bank (ECB).
“We are ready to continue support for Greece and look forward to discussions with the new government,” said a statement by Christine Lagarde, the IMF’s executive director. /AFP
