San Diego (AP) – The San Diego Zoo wants to help just one of its unwell penguins get back on their feet with custom-created rubber footwear. 4-year-old Lucas, an African South African penguin struggling from inflammatory foot illness, obtained orthopedic sneakers, the Southern California Zoo mentioned.
The rubber and neoprene footwear are made to avoid strain details and aid walking. They observed speedy improvement in Lucas immediately after putting on the footwear, said animal professional Debbie Denton. His gait is far more all-natural than him and he can retain much better balance when he is standing.
