The II edition of Expocamp will have more space and more participation | BE Gijón | Today for Today Gijón

The Hall of Camping and Adventure Tourism of the Principality of Asturias (Expocamp), returns to Avilés a year after celebrating its first edition there. In between they have passed thirteen months marked by the pandemic from which the camping sector has emerged strengthened, since the sanitary restrictions and the recommendations of the authorities have placed this form of leisure and travel as one of the safest options of movement.

Expocamp grows this year in surface area and in participation. The Exhibition and Congress Pavilion of La Magdalena will have 10% more space to host the visits of the more than 700 pre-registered so far, of which more than 50% are from outside the community.

Heriberto Menéndez, general coordinator of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Avilés, has been very satisfied at SER Gijón where he recalled the difficulties that the first edition, the last major fair before the confinement, meant for the organization. “We had two sensations: on the one hand that it was a new room in a booming sector with an extraordinary response from exhibitors, more than those at the second fair in the sector; on the other, we also feared having to suspend it due to the pandemic at any time”, has remembered.

Now the context has changed a lot and “following all the indications of the general direction of health, the event will open its doors for three days “with almost 60 exhibitors that occupy the entire spectrum of sectors that this field brings together.” Products, services, accommodation and vehicles such as motorhomes can be viewed, bought or rented in Avilés along with a program that seeks to “be more than a trade show. We want to be different from other fairs so we have incorporated technical conferences for professionals“.

The entrances, at a cost of 2.50 euros and free for children under twelve, can be purchased at Pavilion lockers. There’s also possibility to pre-register on the website of living room.
