It was supposed to be a fun game and instead it became a tragedy. A seven-year-old boy died in Switzerland after being buried under an igloo he built with his father. It happened in Tarasp, in the canton of Grisons, in the Lower Engadine. According to police reconstructions, the two had built the structure in a rudimentary way to have fun in the snow, but they did it the wrong way and it collapsed, burying both of them. The father, being stronger, was able to free himself from the mass of snow and thanks to the help of other people who had come after realizing what had happened, he started looking for the child by digging.
However, it took a quarter of an hour to find it, given the large mass of snow that had covered it, and when it re-emerged the little one was in a state of unconsciousness. They immediately tried to revive him while waiting for the intervention of a crew of the Rega, Swiss Air-Rescue, who promptly arrived. Transported by helicopter to the hospital in Chur, however, unfortunately the child did not survive despite all the efforts of the doctors. The prosecutor and the cantonal police of Graubünden are investigating the dynamics of the tragic accident, while the family, in a state of shock, is receiving psychological assistance.
