The ideal garden is in Chaumont-sur-Loire

Let’s go for the thirtieth Chaumont-sur-Loire International Garden Festival. On the theme of the ideal garden, it was inaugurated this Friday, May 6. These ephemeral creations are to be discovered until November 6 at the Château de Chaumont sur Loire.

For this anniversary edition, 19 international teams present their creations as well as four renowned artists, including Kathryn Gustafson and the Malaysian Inch Lim, who have benefited from “green cards”. A veritable laboratory of contemporary creation in the field of gardens and landscaping, the Garden Festival is an exceptional calling card for these “vegetable artists”.

Work of art, vegetable garden, therapeutic space, place of biological culture, the garden is a place of life. “It is also a response to the ills of our society, an antidote to our suffering” declared Chantal Colleu-Dumon, director of the festival, paying tribute to Jean-Paul Pigeat, the creator of the festival in 1992 with the support of Jacques Lang.

Surrounded in particular by Marie-France Pigeat, Patrice Blanc, the star botanist with green hair and Jean Mus, the Mediterranean landscaper, François Bonneau was delighted with the success of this festival, supported by the region since 2007: “ Millions of people have experienced a special emotion here. It took great intuition to imagine this unique festival in the world”.

“This extraordinary adventure corresponds to our territory. This is why we wanted to place the new edition of Nouvelles Renaissance[s]the festival of creativity and the art of living in Centre-Val de Loire region on the theme of the ideal garden » will also say the president before the official procession leaves to discover the artists for a long wandering under the declining sun of the beautiful month of May.

An exceptional vintage. This is the qualifier to describe the 2022 edition. “Dazzling and giving meaning to our lives” as François Bonneau described it, it perfectly symbolizes the beauty of the world and the harmony of nature.

Politics comes to the garden

The legislative elections were in all the heads of the politicians present this Friday. In the procession, alongside Marc Gricourt, mayor of Blois, we noticed in particular the presence of Hervé Mesnager, announced candidate of the PRG, Marie-Hélène Millet, departmental councilor close to Marc Fesneau (who should announce his candidacy in the days to come). come) and Reda Belkadi (LFI) candidate of the New People’s Ecological and Social Union in the constituency of Blois.

Asked about the electoral agreement between the PS and the party of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, François Bonneau wanted to be confident: “I am for gathering and not for erasure. It is important that all the left formations work in synergy, which was expected by our fellow citizens”.

Unlike other elected officials, the president of the region therefore does not plan to leave the party of Jaurès but will remain vigilant: “this period will show the face of the left and the center left”.
