The Ice Cube Apple: A Vintage Treasure from the 1970s

The object of the week: the ice cube apple

The Veropam ice cube apple is perhaps one of the best-known objects from the seventies… And the most sought-after today.

Designed at the hinge of sixties and seventies (1960s and 1970s, Editor’s note)at a time when plastic was becoming omnipresent, this table cooler immediately became a favorite at French aperitifs.

Originally available in four colors (red, orange, green and brown), the Veropam apple quickly took on multiple other versions, manufactured in varying numbers of copies.

The most common versions (red, orange and light green) sell for €20. Allow €30 for apples in less common colors (purple, pink, yellow or turquoise). A rare white apple can be worth between €40 and €50.
