IB3’s fiction has reached the United States and Canada, with the productions Treufoc and Gàbia, which are broadcast on the American platform MHZ. Both are released in Catalan with English subtitles.
Treufoc, with the English title Spitfire, is IB3’s first thriller. It premiered in 2017 and has three seasons of 10 episodes available on demand in Spain, on YouTube and Filmin. The series won the FORTA Pello Sarasola award for the best regional program in 2018.
Gàbia, with the English title Operation Cage, is a two-episode IB3 fiction miniseries inspired by the real events of the last attack by the terrorist group ETA on Spanish territory in the summer of 2009 in Palmanova (Mallorca). It is directed by the three-time Goya nominated filmmaker Marcos Cabotà. It premiered on IB3 Televisió in 2018, in movie theaters across the country in 2019, and on the national cable TV channel DARK in 2021.
