On Friday, September 18, the driver of the test prototype did not choose a good day new generation Hyundai Tucson. He did not estimate the correct speed while overtaking and got a skid, during which he collided two motorcycles. Unfortunately, the accident did not go unnoticed.
The accident happened on Friday, September 18, after 1 pm on the road between the villages of Kojetín and Popůvky. The driver of the Hyundai SUV began to overtake in a slight right turn, but according to the police, he did not adjust the speed of his driving to the condition and nature of the road. During his maneuver, he drove the left part of the car off the road and got a skid.
Unfortunately, the driver could not react to this and the uncontrollable car got back into the right lane, where there were two motorcycles that he hit. Two 17-year-olds were standing next to them, and one of them managed to jump, but the other did not, and the motorcycles knocked him down. Hyundai eventually ended up in the opposite left lane, where police said it overturned.
The knocked-out young man suffered injuries in the accident, with which he was transported to a hospital in Olomouc. Fortunately, no one else was injured.
The police estimated the amount of damage at 700 thousand crowns, and the investigation also found that none of the participants had consumed alcohol. However, the exact details of the accident, including the degree of fault of the drivers, are still under investigation.
