Despite having practically the same roster as the previous season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a notable start in the NBA, to the point of winning nine of the 13 games played, including the five most recent. A mark that does not deprive the Californian management of setting its eyes again on Trae Young, of the Atlanta Hawks.
Indeed, Bleacher Report assured that the top star of the Georgia state team could be changed if a good offer comes from the Los Angeles franchise or another. In fact, in mid-2023 and even at the beginning of 2024, there was speculation that the Hollywood quintet would make a good proposal to acquire the elitist point guard.

Now, the aforementioned media insists that the Lakers would be willing to send a package of players in which the Hawks would benefit, despite having to give up Young. Atlanta would receive point guards D’Angelo Russell and Gabe Vincent, along with power forward Rui Hachimura, a first-round draft pick in both 2029 and 2031, and an exchange of picks from the same 2030 draft.
Also considering that the three-time All Star invitee is under salary control until 2026, since he can get out of his pact within three summers, and Atlanta does not seem to have the tools to fight to transcend the playoffs in the short term (maximum, qualify with a low seeding), breaking out of the elite pilot and getting plenty of returning talent shouldn’t be far-fetched.
