Despite the fact that warming is expected in the metropolitan region by the end of the week, there will be no full-fledged summer heat in Moscow, the scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told RIA Novosti. Mr. Wilfand explained that night temperatures will be rather low, so Muscovites will be chilly in the morning.
“Mostly without precipitation, the temperature is 21-23 degrees. However, nighttime temperatures are already low. They run mostly around 10 degrees (7 to 12 degrees). This means that a person is chilly in the morning, and usually comfortable in summer. Therefore, I would clarify that we are not talking about the return of summer heat in the literal sense of the word. It is only conditionally that warmth can be called summer. We can say that it is “warm” in a typical August performance. Real summer can no longer be felt. It happens in the last days of July, in the first days of August, but not at the end of the month, ”said Mr. Wilfand.
Mr. Vilfand explained that the warming in the center of Russia is due to the weak north wind and active sun. It is not yet known how long it will last. Usually in the second half of August, the climatic norm decreases significantly, he added.
