The Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower reopens with almost all rooms occupied

The pandemic made it impossible to put into value the reform that this hotel in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat had just opened in February 2020, after an investment of ten million euros. A year and six months later, the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower, formerly known as Hesperia Tower, reopens its doors and does so with almost all of its rooms occupied, according to its director, Ángel Holgado. Starting this Thursday, a pharmacist will fill the hotel almost 100% for a whole week.

The establishment of category premium He had planned to open during the month of September, like many other hotels in Barcelona, but the arrival of this large group allowed them to advance the date. Once the first week of opening has passed, Holgado points out that bookings are at a good pace and the outlook for the coming months is positive.

The hotel crowned with a UFO, designed by the architect Richard Rogers, returns to activity with all the facilities and services renovated, fully adapted to the new measures by the covid. “It has another aspect,” Holgado sums up. Its 280 rooms spread over 29 floors have been redecorated, as has the lobby, which now incorporates a coworking area and a gastronomic space, the Market, with sandwiches, appetizers and drinks.

The restaurant offer is completed with the Axis bar, also in the lobby and taking advantage of the new outdoor terrace; the Azimut lunch restaurant, and the Terrum restaurant, on the first floor. You will still have to wait for the return of the restaurant located at the top – in the flying saucer – which today is used for parties and private events.

With proposals such as the Axis, the Market and the space for coworking, el Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower wants to strengthen its relationship with the cityHolgado remarks. The establishment returns offering spaces designed not only for its customers but also for residents of the area, who can go to have meetings or stop by for a drink and enjoy the terrace.

The reactivation of the Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower is part of the reopening process that the Hesperia group began last May with the Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid, followed in June with the holiday resorts in Lanzarote and Mallorca. The hotel group plans to reopen six more establishments during August and September, thus completing the resumption of its entire business. In Barcelona, the Hesperia Ramblas has already done it and only the Hesperia Sant Just hotel, which will do it this Saturday, and the Hesperia Presidente, which will wait until the beginning of September, remains pending.
