It’s not possible, maybe we have a Sock Eater at home! Does this phrase sound familiar? And especially when you wash your socks? So what about a sock that doesn’t have another one to match? Yes, you can use it as a curtain duster, turn it into a heating pad, and fill it with rice, but you can also get to the bottom of this mystery. We will tell you where to reliably find your socks.
Where they got married, they got married here
The experience was sent to us by a reader who was shocked by the location of his socks, so he decided to share his story with us. When Mrs. Silva once told her husband that they kept losing socks and asked if it was possible to look into the washing machine, the man was the first to unscrew the front panel – and lo and behold, lost socks were born. Ms. Silva even found some loose change here that her family had left in their pockets.
Then the place where the socks might be is revealed, but where did the socks go? This happens most often when the seal that separates the washing drum and the rest of the device is damaged. In this case the socks are literally swallowed by the washing machine when the drum spins. What is the best way to prevent this evil? You can tell that simply, with regular maintenance.
Clean your washing machine regularly
In addition to cleaning the filter, also check the condition of all seals. It will also be important not to overfill the keg, which can be destroyed due to the extra weight. So always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. And if you plan to wash small items, or for example bras with metal hooks, we recommend using laundry bags or cloth bags.
And when it comes to cleaning your washing machine, you don’t have to run to the pharmacy and buy expensive chemicals, you’ll be more than enough with what you have in your pantry at home. For example, soda, vinegar and citric acid. Many people don’t buy chemical fabric softeners, but use vinegar to soften clothes and towels, which doubles as a laundry detergent and fabric softener. You have more options to use these raw materials. Pour the vinegar into the detergent container and pour the baking soda into the washing machine drum, or prepare a solution of baking soda and vinegar and pour it into the container.
You can also use citric acid. To make cleaning as effective as possible, it is recommended to turn on the program at 90°C and as soon as the washing machine reaches the rinsing phase, stop it and let it rest overnight. In the morning when you wake up, turn on the washing machine and let it finish cleaning.
