Within the framework of its Arab and international presence, the House of Philosophy in Fujairah joined the International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP) as the first Gulf country, and one of the first Arab countries alongside Morocco.
Founded in 1948, the World Federation of Philosophical Societies is the world’s most important non-governmental organization for philosophy. It organizes the World Congress of Philosophy every four years to promote philosophical education, and serves as the link between the international humanities federations and UNESCO.
With this accession, the House of Philosophy in Fujairah will be able to participate in international philosophical conferences and establish relations with philosophical societies in the world, in a way that serves the noble purpose of philosophy.
The accession of the House of Philosophy in Fujairah to this global philosophical institution would enhance Fujairah’s position as an Arab and international center for philosophy, and also confirms the importance of the UAE in its enlightening cultural activity, as Ahmed Al-Samahi, Director General of the House of Philosophy said.
