/ world today news/ The house museum of the great Bulgarian poet Peyo Yavorov on the capital’s “Rakovski” street is about to become a night bar, warns a capital daily newspaper. The artist and his beloved Lora Karavelova lived in this house 100 years ago.
“We cannot allow them to erase one remaining particle of the great Yavorov!”, say the opponents of the idea.
It turned out that the Metropolitan Municipality had issued a construction order to the previous owners of the house, and subsequently it became clear that the permit itself was also approved by the National Institute of Cultural Monuments. Thus, with the documents available to the current owners, they have the right to rebuild Yavorov’s home and turn it into whatever they want – in the case of a piano bar.
Defenders of the museum fear that someone could turn the home of one of our greatest poets into a chalgotheque.
