Football in Curitiba it is common currency, as in all of Brazil. The city has three teams in professionalism and lives this sport in a special way because nowadays none share category.
Athletic from Paraná militates in Serie A, the Brasileirao, while Curitiba is fighting for promotion and Paraná is in Serie D.
The Furacao will be rival of Peñarol tomorrow from 9:30 pm on the Arena da Baixada, the spectacular stadium inaugurated in 1914 under the name Joaquim Américo Guimarães. This scenario had several reforms and the most recent one was made for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil as it hosted four matches of the first phase of the tournament.
But not only the stadium was the protagonist of the World Cup. The hotel where the coal delegation will stay from today was also the same. At the Pestana Curitiba, located in the quiet of the city center, it also hosted World Cup teams in 2014.

The delegations of Algeria, Australia, Iran and Honduras, countries that faced Russia, Spain, Nigeria and Ecuador, respectively, in the World Cup, were at Pestana as well as a group of FIFA organizers.
The luxurious establishment is part of an international hotel chain born in Portugal and has a direct relationship with football, since one of its main investors is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He is one of the investors and also a partner in Life Style Pestana CR7, something that gives this hotel chain an important prestige,” Jaime Masalla, manager of Pestana Curitiba, told Ovación.
The Portuguese soccer player faced the hotel project several years ago and installed three hotel establishments called Pestana CR7. The first was in Funchal, in Madeira, the hometown of the Manchester United player. The second was built in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, and the third in Madrid, where he lived after his successful stint at Real.

These are majestic hotels in which there are no details left to chance. The one in Spain, for example, is in what used to be the La Casa del Libro building, on Gran Vía.
The chain expanded to Latin America and today it has hotels in three cities in Brazil: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba.
“Pestana is looking for more expansion and in Uruguay it already has a site to build its hotel in Montevideo, but the pandemic stopped the start of works. I believe that in the short term that construction will begin. The same happens with the hotel that we will have in Buenos Aires ”, Jaime Masalla explained to Ovation while showing the facilities of the luxurious establishment that from today will be inhabited by the Peñarol delegation.
“We are very happy to receive Peñarol for such an important match. The delegation will occupy five floors of the hotel and will have all the services available, ”Masalla remarked.
This afternoon at 5:30 p.m. the coal delegation will arrive at the hotel located in the Center of Curitiba (Batel neighborhood) and will stay there without moving anywhere since it will not recognize the Arena da Baixada for tomorrow’s game against Athletico Paranaense.

The Pestana Curitiba has 172 rooms with all services. In addition, it has a Business Center for events of all levels, sauna, swimming pool, gym, a fitness center and ample parking for guests.
It should be remembered that Peñarol will be in a health bubble, as required by Conmebol for international competitions, and that is why the delegation will not be able to establish contact of any kind with people outside of it, since otherwise there may be severe sanctions.
In a luxury hotel that has Cristiano Ronaldo as an investor, Peñarol will wait for revenge and focused on his goal: the feat in Curitiba.
