The effect of greenhouse gases has increased by 4% per year since 2010, thus making the earth warmer. It is proven that the temperature in Indonesia has increased by 0.03% Celsius. The land is also increasingly being eroded due to rising sea levels and threatens 65% of Indonesian people.
“The sinking of land due to rising sea levels is actually at a rate of about 1cm to 1.2cm per year. It really affects a lot of people who live there. So for us, conveying climate change is very important,” he explained.

Therefore, the Indonesian government is very serious about tackling climate change. The target is that in 2025 the renewable energy mix can increase to 23% in 2025 from the current position of 12%. Although there are many challenges to be faced.
The government itself has issued a special policy framework in handling carbon. From the creation of carbon markets to taxation plans. This is considered more concrete, not only in terms of commitment but also financing.
“Because commitments without resources are impossible to deliver,” said Sri Mulyani.
But relying on the state budget is not enough. The government also invites the private sector to get involved in this issue. For those who are interested, the government is ready to provide incentives. “We must involve the private sector in this policy framework,” he concluded.
