A journalist Filipina died after being shot by a number of unknown assailants. This journalist received a gunshot wound to the head.
The shooting reportedly took place inside a shop located near the journalist’s home. Precisely located in the city of Calbayog, Samar Province, on Wednesday (8/12) local time.
Reported by AFP, Thursday (12/9/2021), a statement by the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) via Facebook named the journalist who died as Jesus Malabanan.
A local Philippine media report, Inquirer.net, citing Malabanan’s wife, Mila, said the shooting took place inside their shop in Calbayog, western Samar. This incident occurred at 18.00 local time.
The wife said that Malabanan died instantly from a gunshot wound to the head. Mil said he was watching TV when he heard gunshots.
