In the end, the “war of the worlds” will only postpone and postpone what are the real problems of football. Now is the time to stay aligned and compact, to pass the storm unleashed by the “bully” Ceferin and his friends in love with the “football of the people”, and then try to get back around a table and seriously discuss how not to sink the lob universe. I have said it several times, the Super Lega project, as it was born and presented, does not drive me crazy, indeed I do not like it at all, I also believe that the ways and times in which it was brought out were wrong, but the reaction triggered by the Mr. Ceferin as well as disproportionate, was vulgar and excessive and I firmly think that it should not remain a dead letter. But after all these days, instead of trying to explain and make people understand, it was thought only to attack and shoot without going into any points in favor and against, as good information should do.
A real “anti” cartel was created which involved the big newspapers (two in particular controlled by the same publisher) with a campaign that led to the definition of Andrea Agnelli and Beppe Marotta as a Judas (shot on the front page), fueling a fire without ever getting into the heart of the matter. After that everyone, absolutely everyone (quote from the good Fabio Paratici) began to talk, feeling entitled to offend and taunt without even understanding what they were thinking about.
It is clear that the tones used by Ceferin and associates make it clear that the nerve touched, by what I like to call Super League provocation, is a bare nerve, because here, dear friends, we go far beyond defending the football of the “people” here they are interests and power are at stake.
Attention, the situation is not simple. The “capetto” of UEFA, now submerged by the hashtag Ceferin out, has meanwhile surrounded himself by characters who do not look favorably on Juventus, see Mr. Boniek, and therefore in a future perspective a mediation must also be necessary because to date, after the backsliding of the English (and please let’s stop with the story of the turnaround caused by the revolt of the fans) the lit match has remained in the hand of Real and Juve and in particular of President Agnelli, what in fact it is more exposed. It is true, however, that with the passing of the hours the first criticisms of the Champions League reform began to arrive. After the first outburst, full of demagoguery and hypocrisy, football players and insiders have begun to highlight the madness of the new formula on the Super League, so that slowly the Slovenian lawyer throne has registered some small jolts.
My feeling is that in the end a sort of Super League will take place, perhaps rewarding meritocracy more, but I hope with a path studied and shared by all, without Uefa being the master and a gentleman who instead of protecting the interests of a football in many ways adrift, dispenses dogmas and forgiveness as not even the Pope would allow himself to do
At the end of the season the Exor assembly will decide on any changes at the top of Juventus, personally I hope that Andrea Agnelli will remain in command, perhaps with some turnover among the top managers, but now our president, who even in recent years something he made a mistake, he needs all our support.
Juve are under attack, and for once the Juventus people have to find themselves compact and united around the shirt. Something similar to 2006? No, I don’t think the levels are those, but the attack is there for all to see. The tsunami will pass and at that point we will have to see what will remain under the wave. For now, Juve must necessarily win its place in the next Champions League, while on a strictly sporting level the management will have to treasure the mistakes made in these two years.
The fans are rightly waiting for a response after the attacks in recent days. I still think that the best moves, besides those in the hands of the lawyers, will be those on the pitch. A year can also be wrong, as long as it takes to come out stronger and more determined.
