As Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG reported on Thursday, some 104,000 passengers were counted in Dresden in August, an increase of 91 percent compared to the same month last year. In Leipzig/Halle there were around 202,000 passengers (up 60.4%).

Flights to destinations in Turkey, Greece and Spain have been particularly popular, according to the airport operator.

In August 2019, thenpassenger numbers at the two locations of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG were significantly higher. At that time there were 149,000 in Dresden and 283,000 in Leipzig/Halle.
