“Čaputová, Heger or Kollár got a basket. I’m not even surprised by the hockey players, ” wrote on Facebook deputy and vice-chairman of the strongest opposition party Hlas Erik Tomáš. And he was not the only opposition politician to suggest on the social network that hockey players refused to meet with Slovak politicians because of bad relations. “The current government literally coughed up athletes during the pandemic,” Tomáš wrote.
Andrej Danko, the chairman of the non-parliamentary party of the SNS, also joined him. “The bronze hockey players refused to meet Čaputová, Heger and Kollár. From now on, they’re golden boys for me. ” wrote on Facebook. Danko also added that the SNS can look hockey players in the eye, because it has done a lot for the sport.
Resident from ĽSNS and chairman of the Život party, Tomáš Taraba he wrotethat “no one has done as much for the destruction of sport in Slovakia as this government in the last two years.”
The hockey players do not say that they did not meet Heger, Čaputová and Kollár, because they want to express their disagreement with their policy.
