The hit game of Poles returns. There is a trailer for Frostpunk 2. Will there be international success?

Frostpunk is undoubtedly one of the best Polish games last decade. Released in 2018, the title of the 11 bit studio has gained recognition from players around the world. This is evidenced not only by the excellent reviews and ratings on Metacritic.com (84/100), but also by many industry awards.

Now we know that a post-apocalyptic real-time strategy game where humanity fights to survive during the new Ice Age will be continued. The official trailer of the game has just hit the network, which – unfortunately – does not reveal the exact release date yet.

Frostpunk 2 officially. 11 bit is preparing another hit

As the creators themselves emphasize, the action of the sequel takes place 30 years after the events of the first Frostpunk. Once again let’s play the role of the city leader, whose task will be – literally – to keep its inhabitants alive. There is also a technological revolution ahead of us. The source of energy that will allow our community to survive will be no wgiel, but Petroleum.

What players should expect is a wide range of choices, the freedom to shape society and city in your own way, and bear the consequences of your decisions. Frostpunk 2 builds on the conflicts from the previous installment: survival versus human values, life versus arctic frost. However, it adds, most importantly, a new layer present in many aspects of the game – whether in politics, society, or technological advances – the conflict between humans and their own nature.

Stokalski also points out that Frostpunk 2 will be a game on a much larger scale than its predecessor. “With an ever-growing team of nearly 70 people, we have more manpower to focus on all aspects of the game: scale, level of grinding, and quality of the player experience, but our main ambition is to create more than just a sequel,” he explains.

So far, Frostpunk 2 has been announced only for the PC platform. The game will go to Steam, GOG and Epic stores. There is no information about the version for Xbox and PlayStation, although it is possible that it will appear later.

On the occasion of the announcement of Frostpunk 2, the developers decided to remind us of the first part of the game. During the next weekend, we will be able to play Frostpunk on Steam for free. All you need to do is have an account on the platform and install the game on your computer.
