In 1967, the city of Montreal hosted the most popular Universal Exhibition of the 20th century: more than 50 million visitors came to the artificial islands built for this occasion! Expo ’67, under the theme Terre des Hommes, was a huge success. More than 50 years later, some of its pavilions are still in operation on Île Ste-Hélène. It was one of the most significant events in Montreal’s history, but at the time, obstacles were increasing for the organizers.-
