The beginning of the history of electronic games dates back to 1958 AD, when the American scientist William Higginbotham developed the famous “Tic Tac Toe” game, and since then, the electronic games industry has witnessed a great development.
Through the Museum of the History of Video Games, the Game Developers Zone restored the atmosphere of the beautiful past, and brought back its visitors in this year’s gamer season, in an interesting and enjoyable journey through time, as it highlighted the tremendous development that games have gone through during the past fifty years, from its inception to the tremendous progress it is witnessing today, as it began in the seventies with devices such as “Atari” and “Commodore 64” with simple graphics and stories, and then developed into professional games with a huge industry in the nineties and new millennium.
The museum contained the most important electronic gaming devices in history, from the first generation to the latest eighth generation devices, and the museum allows everyone to try many classic games on their original devices, which brings back many memories and impressions that accompanied the experience of playing on those devices for the generation that witnessed them, as well as enabling the current generation to return to eras near and far, in an interactive, educational and entertainment experience; Through it, they discover the evolution of graphics, sound, and control options from simple buttons to modern devices that rely on motion and touch.
The museum also allows the experience of many games that were known at every stage, starting from classic games such as “Space Invaders” and “Asteroids”, which were released with the first generation devices, to more modern games.
