The historian of the Arabian Peninsula, Hamad Al-Jasser, described the other famous historian, Abu Bakr Hussein bin Ghannam, who chronicled the religious situation in Saudi Arabia during the era of Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab, as a “propaganda man.”

The scholar Al-Jasser’s opinion was revealed by researcher and historian Rashid bin Asaker, through a rare audio recording of the sheikh who died in 2000, in which he said: “Ibn Ghannam is not a real historian.. Ibn Ghannam is a propaganda man,” considering that the historian should be like a just judge and write down the historical period in all its aspects. its dimensions.

Regarding the famous books of Ibn Ghannam and Ibn Bishr on the history of Najd, Al-Jasser said that they did not record this time period in all its dimensions and its various ideas and opinions.

And he added in another recording that Ibn Asaker posted on his Twitter account: “Our sheikhs do not have room for those who oppose the Salafist call,” and for this reason many books were lost, such as the books of Sheikh Rashid bin Khanin and others.

He pointed out that the sheikhs, from the time of Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhab until the era of Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, were at the time of the death of the scholar in Najd forbidding the publication of the opinions and ideas contained in his books that were inconsistent with the Salafi call.

And the book “The History of Najd” by Ibn Ghannam, along with “The Title of Glory in the History of Najd” by Ibn Bishr, are the two most prominent references to the history of the call of Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab during the 12th century AH. Salafi.
