The Hildegard Ensemble of Vasto travels to London, applause for the ancient music concert

New and exciting experience for the girls of<a href="http://www.world-today-news.com/concert-in-london-by-the-hildegard-ensemble-directed-by-paola-stivaletta-piazza-rossetti/" title="Concert in London by the Hildegard Ensemble directed by Paola Stivaletta – Piazza Rossetti”>Hildegard Ensemble and the director Paola Stivaletta that last Saturday, October 19thwere the protagonists of a concert in London in the beautiful Catholic Church of Our Lady Grace & St. Edward (Chiswick High Road). The event was realized thanks to the great commitment and dedication of the Comboni Missionary Sisters (Comboni Missionary Sisters) of the London branch who accepted Maestro Stivaletta’s proposal for an ancient music concert in their parish, taking action and committing themselves to the logistical part.

The program proposed in the evening, including pieces by authors from different historical periods (Laudario di Cortona, Hildegard of Bingen, Montpellier Codex, Uppsala Songbook, Thomas Tallis, Orlando Di Piazza etc.), was welcomed with great interest and attention by the London audience who showed their appreciation with long and intense applause and requests for an encore: the success of the concert pushed the organizers to renew the invitation for future English performances of the ‘Ensemble.

Moment of emotion, thanks and remembrance for Sister Pia Elisa Di Pietro of Vasto, recently deceased, who for 37 years served in the London parish of the Catholic Church of Our Lady Grace & St. Edward.

The Hildegard Ensemble, directed and founded by Paola Stivaletta, is a group with equal female voices (Paola Stivaletta, Daniela Belfiore, Sara Cicioni, Martina Di Bussolo, Clara Lizzi, Serena Menicucci, Elisa Zinni) and is part of the women’s section of Stella Maris polyphonic choir of Vasto.

The group bears the name of Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179), Christian mystic, Benedictine abbess and scholar, expert in philosophy, musical composition, biology, medieval literature, cosmology, medicine, biology, theologian and natural history.
