Looking at the elderly population, in general, most seniors were vaccinated in Valmiera region, where, for example, 80% of seniors have started vaccination at the age of 70-79 and 70% at the age of 80-89. In Saldus municipality, 82% of the population in the age group from 70 to 79 years have received at least one dose of vaccine. In Saulkrasti and Ogre counties, 70% of seniors in the age group from 80 to 89 years have been vaccinated with at least one vaccine dose.
In the age group from 30 to 59, most vaccinated with at least one dose are in Mārupe municipality. For example, between the ages of 30 and 39, more than half or 64% of the population in this municipality have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, compared to the national average of 47%.
Also in the age group from 12 to 15 years, the most vaccinated are in Mārupe region, where, for example, already 62% of adolescents aged 16 to 17 have started vaccination against Covid-19. The vaccination rate of young people is also high in Ādaži municipality, where 62% of 18-29 year olds have been vaccinated with at least one dose, while on average in the country at this age group – slightly less than half or 47%.
The vaccination service in Latvia is free, residents have the opportunity to choose vaccines from different manufacturers. Vaccination services can be obtained from family doctors, medical institutions, mass vaccination centers, vaccination points in shopping centers, during off-site vaccination at fairs, city festivals.
