The Ministry of Transport continues to implement the second line project of the high-speed electric train network “October / Aswan / Abu Simbel”, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to expand in the logistical areas to serve the trade movement.
In this regard, “The Seventh Day” reviews the most important information about the new project, get acquainted with it:
1. It is a project Fast electric train “Cairo Aswan” is one of the country’s development projects across the country, linking Egyptian cities to each other by easier and faster means.
2. The establishment of the high-speed electric train network consisting of 4 main lines with a total length of about 2,250 km, of which about 1,400 km to serve Upper Egypt, in parallel with the ongoing development of the existing railway network with a length of 10,000 km.
3. It approved the extension of the line from Aswan to Abu Simbel to support and serve the tourism movement and facilitate the movement of citizens by a modern, modern and environmentally friendly means of transport that provides the highest levels of service to the public and the transportation of crops and agricultural products from the farms of Toshka and East Al Owainat to residential areas and seaports such as Safaga and Alexandria.
4. The distance of the second line of the high-speed electric train network “October / Aswan / Abu Simbel” is about 1100 km.
5. The distance from Abu Simbel to Luxor is about 530 km, which includes 12 stations, including 5 express train stations and 7 regional train stations.
6. Establishing a high-speed train station that contributes to the service and development of the southern regions of Egypt, including its tourist attractions.
7. The train will pass on the track in the Toshka area, where it is planned to establish a high-speed train station to serve the promising Toshka area as an agricultural and industrial area and a new development area.
8. There is a study to establish a logistic area and a dry port for the arrival of the cargo train to this area in order to serve the transportation of products and raw materials to and from it by a safe and fast means of transporting goods with a large size and transport capacity, in addition to logistic areas in Qastal, Arqin and Wadi Karkar.
9. The route also passes through the Medicom Industrial Zone, and the construction of a regional train station in this area contributes to the transportation of workers and frequenters.
10. The express train also serves the villages and residential communities in Jabal Shisha and Arab Suhail, to reach the Aswan Airport station.
11. Taking into account that the train route is near the Western Road campus, and that the location of the stations is close to roads, residential places, and intersection areas with the Nile axes, to serve the residents of Upper Egypt governorates.
12. It was also taken into account that all approaches to the stations are free and serve all directions of traffic, in order to facilitate travelers to reach the stations from all directions and from all nearby cities and villages.
13. The implementation of earthen bridges, bridges, industrial works for the track, stations and fences is carried out by major Egyptian companies specialized in these fields.
14. Industrial works on the roads intersecting with the train track. The German company will implement all systems work for the project, represented in signals and communications, railway works, electromechanical works, and others, in addition to manufacturing and supplying mobile units of all kinds, including express trains, regional trains, and electric tractors. As well as workshop design, supply and installation of its equipment.
15. The environmentally friendly express train system will represent a quantum leap in sustainable green transportation in Egypt and will cover all parts of the Republic.
16. In addition to being development arteries that serve new and existing urban and industrial areas, they will contribute to reducing and shortening travel time between governorates to more than half the time that citizens currently spend, whether through the old train network or through the current roads linking the governorates.
17. It also serves the transportation of goods between ports and governorates, as well as industrial, tourist, agricultural and urban areas.
