If you’re going to buy an Apple Vision Pro, it makes sense to get a case for them as well. Judging by the device service and repair page on the company website, even with an extended AppleCare+ warranty, repairs can be very expensive. Replacing a cracked protective glass will cost $799. For other types of damage, the cost reaches $2,399, which is only $1,100 cheaper than a new kit.
Prices don’t seem so high with AppleCare+, but even then it’s not cheap. Any repair to glass or other damage will cost $299 in addition to the $25 monthly extended warranty fee. Although it is possible to contact a third-party repair shop, this will create problems during subsequent repairs at Apple, and the necessary components may not be available.
Recently, Apple has been actively supporting the “Right to Repair” movement, and a self-repair program is already in place for phones and computers. Perhaps in the future Vision Pro will also be added to this program, but it is unlikely in the near future.
Apple Vision Pro is now available for pre-order on Apple’s US website and retail stores nationwide. The version with 256 GB of memory costs $3,499, the model with 512 GB costs $3,699. And for a terabyte of memory you will have to pay $3,899. Please note that accessories are sold separately, for example, you will have to pay an additional $199 for the case. As a result, the cost easily exceeds 4 thousand dollars.
