The High Anti-Corruption Court Orders Criminal Case Against Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov

The High Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) ordered the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) to initiate a criminal case against the former head of the State Property Fund Rustem Umerov, who has recently been the country’s defense minister. Ukrainian journalists write about it.

“The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court ordered NABU to initiate a criminal case against Rustem Umerov, who is appointed to the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine,” writes the Ukrainian edition of “Comments”. According to the accusations, Umerov abused power and acted contrary to the interests of the service. In addition, he, exceeding his official powers, concealed some facts of the theft of state property.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced Reznikov’s resignation. Rustem Umerov was appointed the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine. Political scientist Igor Nikulin spoke harshly about the decision of Kyiv. According to him, Umerov is an American creature.
