They did not advertise their relationship.

The role of Dr. Watson has become a landmark for Vitaly Solomin. The actor starred in many famous films, and in three of them he appeared with his famous brother.

In Soviet times, Yuri Solomin was as popular as the Soviet doctor Watson. The elder brother of Vitaly Methodievich is known for the paintings “TASS is authorized to declare”, “School waltz”, “Ordinary miracle” and others. Thrice eminent brothers starred together. These are the films “Dauria”, “Dreams of Russia” and “The Bat” – in the latter, the Solomins played friends.

Despite the close relationship and the incredible career success of both, the brothers did not get along with each other. The press wrote that the reason was the division of the inheritance after the death of the mother. As a result, Vitaly Methodievich got her house, which greatly offended Solomin Sr. After that, the brothers avoided each other, so few people knew about their relationship.

Solomin Jr. died in 2002. But Yuri Methodievich is alive, he recently celebrated his 88th birthday. His fans complain that the actor did not get enough bright roles. But Solomin Sr. is in no way inferior to his brother, and even surpasses him in beauty. The stately actor would ideally fit the role of Holmes himself.
