Schaubühne Lindenfels
As part of the 9th Days of Industrial Culture Leipzig, the Schaubühne Lindenfels invites you to a local film premiere:THE HERITAGE OF DR. HEINE by Tilo Esche.
Carl Heine was only 23 years old when his mother gave him the general power of attorney for “Reichels Garten”, thereby directing him towards the commercial exploitation of her considerable property. And the location of the area was extremely favorable, as it bordered directly on Leipzig’s old town. But as extensive as Reichel’s garden was, for the ambitious entrepreneur it only formed the starting point for even more extensive land development work, far beyond the city limits.
The film looks at the work of Carl Heine and the associated development of the city of Leipzig, especially the west of Leipzig. It spans an arc from 1816, when Carl Heine’s father settled in Leipzig, to the present day.
