The Heritage Foundation presented forty-one plaques to owners of the Allier department who carried out restoration work with its help during the past two years, Friday April 15, at the Gabrielle-Robinne theater in Montluçon (Allier ).

This investment corresponds to the creation or maintenance of 108 local jobs in the construction sector. The Heritage Foundation relies on an INSEE study estimating that 33,000 euros of work correspond to a job maintained or created in the building.
In addition to direct aid, the Heritage Foundation also plays a “role as a facilitator of collective projects” as Jacques Aujoulat, Auvergne regional delegate of the Heritage Foundation, points out.
Actions in rural areas and on unprotected heritage in Auvergne
The regional delegate recalled the links that unite the association to the Auvergne territory.
“Over a period of four years, the Heritage Foundation has supported 63 projects, which represents more than 8 million euros in aid. 82% concerned unprotected heritage and 80% were in rural areas. »

Very close relations with the Allier
Jacques Aujoulat also highlighted the importance of the work carried out in the Allier department.
“Allier is the department of Auvergne where we work the most and best. We also have between ten and fifteen corporate sponsors who supplement funding. The Allier patrons’ club is also the first in Auvergne. »

In the Allier, between 2000 and 2021, 759 projects were supported, 47.7 million euros of works were encouraged, 2.3 million euros in subsidies were granted and 1.4 million euros been collected.
One of the biggest partnerships signed with Montluçon Communauté
Laurent Poirier, departmental delegate of the Heritage Foundation for Allier, and Frédéric Laporte, president of Montluçon Communauté and town hall of Montluçon, went further by recalling that one of the largest partnerships in France signed between the Heritage Foundation and a community territory had been in December 2021 with the urban community of Montluçon.
It concerns public aid to individuals of 240,000 euros over three years.

Indispensable help
Among the many recipients of the evening, both private and public, all stressed that without the help and advice of the Heritage Foundation, their projects would not have been possible. The mayor of Souvigny did not hesitate to underline the essential role of the departmental delegate of the association in the safeguarding of the painting of Sainte Rosalie, until then very dirty and difficult to read for the neophyte.
“We thought it was Saint Catherine. We started off on the fact that it was a work without interest. It hung in a corner of the church, in a small chapel. It was thanks to Laurent Poirier that we discovered that it was an important work. The priest did some research and we understood that the painting represented the coronation of Saint Rosalie. »
