TEHERAN – Iran there is a Dasht-e Lut Desert with an area of about 51,800 square kilometers called Dasht-e Lut which is said to be the place with the highest temperature on the face of the Earth.
It was so hot, according to Odditycentral, that the desert was uninhabited, so it was named Dasht-e Lut or empty plain in Persian.
The NASA report states that Dasht-e Lut’s temperature is famous for its extreme conditions, no doubt NASA calls it the Hell area on Earth. The air temperature in this desert can reach 70 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest place in the world.
The desert is also extremely dry, with an average annual rainfall of just 50 millimeters.
Scientists believe that millions of years ago, Dasht-e Lut was the seabed. However, due to tectonic shifts, sea water rose and the rest evaporated due to high temperatures.
Dasht-e Lut, which is surrounded by mountains, is getting hotter and hotter because it can’t take the humid air from the Arabian and Mediterranean seas.
Volcanic gravel that spreads over the surface of the plains contributes to the high temperatures in Dasht-e Lut.
Also, the salty soil makes it impossible for plants to grow in Dasht-e Lut, making it so hot.
