The helicopter is absolutely upright, claims the resigned minister Gvozdeikov. He was in the process of issuing airworthiness. This was also part of the certification process. His claim is in relation to the bTV investigation. It revealed that Bulgaria’s first air ambulance did not have a black box installed.
An inspection by experts from the company “Bulgaria Heli Med Service” found 7 more remarks, including the lack of door seals.
Gvozdeikov brought the helicopter’s black box to the bTV studio. “I personally ordered the engineering team to take it down to show it off. This device is of protocol and is mounted on the helicopter. The software, which should work in sync with the autopilot, has not been installed,” the minister explained. And he didn’t even bother to explain what hardware is without software installed. And maybe he wasn’t aware.
According to him, the certification process will be completed by the end of March.
He showed a document from the Italian manufacturing company that the crew of the machine could be trained at the moment.
Georgi Gvozdeikov explained that the irregularities listed in the bTV investigation were found by a Bulgarian team on February 27 and 28. And this is a few days before the helicopter leaves for Bulgaria. According to him, they were removed by the manufacturer before the flight to Bulgaria.
“How do you imagine the Italian supervisory authority to issue a flight permit to a helicopter that is not airworthy, or not in a fit condition to fly over.” This is complete absurdity,” commented the Minister of Transport.
He described the remarks on the technical condition of the machine as “extremely minor”.
Editor’s note: Even with a closer look, it can certainly be considered that there are no remarks…
