Janne Iversen is in Torrevieja in Spain on a family holiday with her cohabitant and children (9) and (12), where the heat is currently raging.
During the stay, the temperature has risen since the family of four arrived three weeks ago.
Only in the water it is 27 degrees, Iversen tells Dagbladet.
– Is completely cooked
She adds that the family enjoys themselves on the Costa Blanca, and feels lucky to have a holiday, but that the heat also makes its mark on the holiday.
– When we drove yesterday, it was 41 degrees in the car, after it had been in the shade. It has never happened before, so it’s really hefty, she explains.
And it’s not just Iversen who thinks it’s hot. The children stay in the shade to protect themselves from the intense heat.
– Sneier stops by
– It is uncomfortable, we get very tired and tired from the heat. On the beach we are in the sun, but mostly in the shade. Otherwise we will be completely boiled, says Iversen.
To stay cool, the family is on the beach every day. There is a breeze and they would rather be all the way down to the water’s edge.
– It is so hot. There will be swimming or being inside with the air conditioning on.
–
Few Norwegians
She adds that they are turning more and more to the heat, and is especially careful that the children get enough in the shade. Otherwise, they eat ice cream and lubricate themselves well to protect themselves.
– We see that it is bad weather and 14 degrees at home in Trondheim, then it is good to be here in Torrevieja. So in that sense, we are not hurt by the heat wave.
Extreme heat: Stay inside
Iversen says that they have not yet met so many Norwegians in the popular tourist area.
– On the beach are full of Spaniards, but not so many Norwegians, which is probably due to the strike. I have not really experienced so few people when it is season, she concludes.
Ravaging Europe
At the moment, a heat wave is raging in parts of Europe, and Spain is one of the countries hardest hit. On Wednesday, it should have reached its peak with as much as 44 degrees in the regions of Andalucía and Extremadura
Head of Communications for the Spanish Meteorological Institute (Aemet), Cayetano Torres, has called the heat too outrageous, and stated that it is likely to continue. Danger warnings have been issued in several areas.
