The heat creeping north from Europe sweeps up to both Stockholm and Copenhagen. There they probably tilt 30 degrees before the weekend. The heat that is now hitting large parts of Europe could be the first heat wave of the year.
– The heat is a bit like that in the border zone with Norway, but we have precipitation that puts a little damper on the temperatures. Had it been clear weather and sun, it would have quickly become up to 30 degrees in this country as well, says state meteorologist Eldbjørg Moxnes at the Meteorological Institute.
But it is not entirely without hope that we Norwegians can also feel some of the heat. The high pressure in southern Europe can last for a while.
– That is why it can be categorized as a heat wave. It can lie for a while, and it can naturally move a little. If it moves a little north, we can benefit from it. The forecasts do not indicate this now, but that may change, says Moxnes.
Best i vest
The best weather in Norway this weekend will be in Western Norway. Here it clears up after several wet days.
– In that sense, Western Norway has timed the weekend. There will be mostly stays, and some changing cloud cover. Temperatures up to 17 degrees. Next week it will be wet again, says the meteorologist.
For southern Norway and eastern Norway, the situation is reversed. After good weather the last few days, it will rain in the future. It could be a little sunshine on Sunday. Next week again it looks better, except for a little rain on Monday.
– The temperature this weekend can be around 20 degrees. In some places it can be closer to 25 degrees on Sunday if the sun is allowed to shine for a few hours.
– Not a crisis
In Central Norway, there will also be quite changing weather and some rain this weekend. It is possible it will get better on Sunday and Monday, but later in the week the rain will come again. The temperatures this weekend will be up to 15 degrees.
The sour and wet weather that we have in northern Norway now also lasts through the weekend. Nevertheless, there may be occasional inclement weather.
– It will not be all the world, but it is not quite a crisis either, the meteorologist believes.
Monday next week will be a kind of intermediate day with pretty good weather. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday it will rain again in the north.
