117 signals were received on telephone 112 throughout the country for people collapsing due to the heat, and in Pazardzhik they reached 39 degrees.
Most signals are in Sofia and Burgas. In the capital, 27 people needed help, FOCUS reported. They are for nausea, dizziness, palpitations, including hypoglycemia, increase in blood pressure.
“The signals are mostly from people who have health problems, which are exacerbated by higher temperatures and lack of adaptation of the body,” explained emergency services spokeswoman Katya Sungraska.
Doctors advise to avoid going out in the hottest hours, especially the chronically ill, to wear light clothes, a hat, to always have a bottle of water available.
In Plovdiv, four collapsed due to high temperatures. There are 11 signals in Stara Zagora, 10 in Varna and 8 in Vratsa.
The highest measured temperature today was measured in Pazardzhik – 39 degrees. In Montana and Plovdiv the thermometers read 38 degrees, in Sandanski, Chirpan – 37 degrees, and in Novo Selo, Vidin, Vratsa, Lom, Ruse, Kyustendil, Haskovo, Blagoevgrad and Stara Zagora – 36 degrees.
Meteorologists have warned that the heat will continue in the coming days. Tomorrow the weather will be mostly sunny, but in the afternoon there will be showers accompanied by thunder. The rains will be more intense in Eastern Bulgaria. There are conditions for hail. The maximum temperatures will be between 33 and 38 degrees, in Sofia – 33.
Yellow code for hot weather has been announced for 15 districts – Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Blagoevgrad and Kyustendil.
