The heart attack was one of the best things that happened to me

Antonio Banderas said in an interview that his heart attack was “one of the best things that happened” in his life.

The Spanish actor explained that the shocking experience in 2017 helped him see his life better, NOVA reported.

Banderas brought up the subject while discussing his new film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, in which he plays the cat first met in 2004’s Shrek 2.

The new film sees the cat come to terms with his own mortality as he reaches the last of his ‘nine lives’.

When asked if a parallel could be drawn with the film, Banderas said: “I had a heart attack six years ago. “It was probably one of the best things that ever happened in my life. It was like putting on glasses and seeing what’s important in your life,” said the 62-year-old actor.
