The health network severely shaken by the new variant

The Quebec health network is severely shaken by the new Omicron variant, as more than 1,200 workers are infected with COVID-19 and 32 hospitals are in an outbreak.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) confirms that as of December 21, the network counted 1,284 workers as being confirmed cases of COVID-19.

This is more than double from the previous week alone.

Quebec also has nearly 100 active outbreaks in its care or living environments, so 32 in hospitals.
