The health center, “an essential and priority axis” – Medialot

Dominique Marin, the mayor, takes stock.

For the second year since his election, Dominique Marin, mayor of Castelnau-Montratier-Sainte-Alauzie, is deprived of the traditional ceremony of vows. Important moment which allows citizens to be informed of everything that is happening in the town. Despite everything, the town councilor mentions the municipal files:

> Extension of the cemetery

The extension work on the cemetery will be completed in February 2022. Begun under the old municipality, the works were stopped in July 2019 following a disagreement and a budgeting raising the price of 100,000 euros. After many negotiations a happy medium was found allowing to have in the end 152 places (double, single and urns) instead of 187 initially planned.

> Health in Quercy-Blanc

For a long time, the health file, which is very important for the municipality, has been a crucial issue in view of medical desertification. It is the Community of Communes of Quercy-Blanc which has this competence, but the municipality works in partnership and closely follows the files. The old retirement home should accommodate the offices of doctors and other medical professions (physiotherapist, nurses, chiropodist, psychologist, speech therapist, etc.). The project is ambitious and before the budget is validated and the work started interim solutions are considered. The municipality proposes to take charge of the work in one wing of the building in order to accommodate two temporary offices (waiting room, consultation room, administrative secretariat, etc.), while the work is carried out in the annex buildings. In May-June a young doctor is expected to take up her post. She is eagerly awaited.

> And also:

– The call for tenders for the works at the Moussur stadium has been launched. The committees for validation must meet. The project amounts to approximately 850,000 euros (grants from the DETR – 207,000 euros + 30,000 euros -, the Region for 100,000 euros and the Department for 122,000 euros).

– Work on the multi-associative zone in place of the old Spar building should start in 2023. The project amounts to 827,000 euros (including the purchase of the premises). DETR funding amounts to 323,000 euros. Funding for the Region and the Department is not yet known.

– Triptych of the Chemin de Clary. The development of several lots on Chemin de Clary involves three major projects. A plot is intended for Lot Habitat to build 3 to 4 social housing units. A 6000 m² plot is planned to integrate a senior co-rental in partnership with the Société Age et Vie. These are shared homes for dependent people. The project will include two buildings with 8 bedrooms. Life assistants will be present 24 hours a day. And the 3rd project is divided into 4 small lots for individual dwellings. The problem inherent in this subject concerns on the one hand the PLU and on the other hand it is an archaeological zone. Dominique Marin is rather confident because the soon validation of the PLUi should remove this problem and the DRAC has been contacted in order to carry out preliminary studies on the area in question. In any case, these various works will not start before 2023.

– Revitalize the markets. It was a will of the new municipality and the Sunday market has taken a new breath. The stands today are quite diversified both in food and in artisanal proposals. The Sacar association of vintage cars in Sainte-Alauzie also brought dynamism every second Sunday of the month. The flower shops, which had been dormant for years, were a great success. The Christmas market was also very popular. There is no shortage of ideas for the coming months: circus, culture, flea market.

– So that the party is crazier on July 14th. During the aperitif of the feast of Saint-Martin, on November 14, the firefighters, the festival committee and the municipality made a commitment to make July 14, an essential date for Castelnaudais and Saint-Alauziens.

– Participatory budget. For 2022, the municipality wishes to set up a participatory budget. The principle: a financial envelope is voted, then all the fellow citizens and associations make project proposals. A choice is made to select 10. A notice is sent to the population to then choose some 3. “Through this action, we wish to stimulate everyone’s creativity, involve them in projects, make them aware of all the steps to be taken and finally monitor their achievements” specifies Dominique Marin.
