The General Authority for Health Care, Port Said Branch, one of the bodies of the comprehensive health insurance system, revealed the details of the death of Dr. Ahmed El-Louah, professor of medical analysis at Al-Azhar University, after he was infected with the Corona virus, at the age of 57.
The General Authority for Health Care, in a statement today, Monday, that at ten thirty in the evening of the day before yesterday, Saturday, a phone call was received from a doctor to report the case, noting that it is very critical and positive for the emerging corona virus Covid-19 and may need a respirator.
The authority clarified that it was coordinated to transfer him to the Solidarity Hospital in Port Said.
The Public Authority for Health Care added that the emergency room reception room in the emergency department was equipped with a respirator and a cpap mask, and a medical staff consisting of the hospital director, the intensive care doctor, the emergency doctor, and nursing staff trained to deal with new corona cases was waiting for him.
The body continued that the doctor’s condition was evaluated with a very critical degree where the oxygen level in the blood was very low with severe high blood pressure and severe shortness of breath and the case was dealt with and the necessary treatment was given for high blood pressure after consulting Dr. Muhammad in front of the cardiovascular consultant and giving the necessary treatment .
The commission stated that coordination was also made with Dr. Mahmoud Al-Jaraihi, director of the Fever Hospital, to coordinate with us to complete the treatment according to the updated treatment protocols from the Ministry of Health for Covid-19 virus. The condition was already stabilized, blood pressure decreased and the $ blood prisoner level improved to 95%.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Health, the case was transferred to one of the isolation hospitals after confirming its readiness to transfer to the nearest isolation hospital, which is Abu Khalifa in Ismailia, and coordination was done through the emergency and crisis rooms of the Ministry of Health and Population and the General Authority for Care to transfer the case and coordination was made with the Egyptian ambulance authority, according to the statement.
The authority indicated that the doctor was transferred with a car equipped with artificial respiration, accompanied by Dr. Mustafa Shaaban, director of the hospital, the intensive care doctor and ambulance crew, and the case was received at Abu Khalifa Hospital and placed on the ventilator and providing the necessary medical care in accordance with the treatment protocols, and the situation witnessed a remarkable improvement yesterday.
The authority said: After all that, there was a sudden deterioration in the health condition of the doctor Ahmed Al-Louwah and his exile at exactly thirty-twelve minutes this morning, Monday 30 March 2020.
The statement said: According to the investigative efforts carried out by the Directorate of Health Affairs in Port Said, the doctor was one of the direct contacts with the emerging Coronavirus and was under self-isolation at his home before being transferred to the hospital.
