Whether we include it in a snack or in an autumn salad, capia is not only tasty, but also very healthy! We reveal to you why it is good to consume capia, but also how you can prepare it quickly.
What do capia peppers contain?
Capia peppers are a valuable source of nutrients, containing significant amounts of antioxidants. Fresh kapia varieties are recognized for their increased vitamin C content, while those that are cooked tend to have an even higher concentration of this vitamin compared to uncooked ones. In addition, capsicums contain vitamin K and several B vitamins, especially B1, B3 and B6.
When it comes to antioxidant content, red kapia peppers are distinguished by the high presence of pro-vitamin A in the form of pigmented carotenoids, including beta-carotene, alpha-carotene and beta-cryptoxanthin. Next in line are the orange kapia peppers. On the other hand, the unripe varieties, i.e. the green ones, stand out for their higher chlorophyll content.
In addition to these aspects, capia peppers have a low calorie content, containing only 30 to 40 kilocalories per 100 grams. They are also low in fat, protein, carbohydrates and sugars, and contain almost negligible amounts of sodium. Adding to the list of benefits, peppers provide an important source of dietary fiber and bring with them essential minerals such as manganese, potassium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus.
Why should you eat capsicum?
They are good for healthy weight loss because they are low in calories and fat. They are beneficial for high blood pressure. The vitamin C in Kapia peppers helps maintain the elasticity of blood vessels by synthesizing collagen and removing plaque from the walls of blood vessels. They have anti-aging benefits thanks to vitamin C that stimulates collagen synthesis for better skin elasticity and fewer wrinkles. Vinegar capsicum recipe – the fastest and most delicious salad
ingredients
1 kg. of roasted capsicums, cleaned, 150 ml. vinegar, 50 g. sugar, 2 teaspoons of mustard seeds, 1 celery stick, 1 bay leaf.
Method of preparation
Roast the peppers and sprinkle them with coarse salt, then leave them covered with a lid for a few minutes. After baking, we peel them and break them into strips. Be careful when peeling them to always put your hand in cold water. Remove the seeds very carefully, but without rinsing them with water. In a saucepan, boil the vinegar, sugar and mustard seeds for 2 minutes. Pour the obtained brine over the baked peppers, letting it soak for 30 minutes.
After this stage, we put the pepper strips in the jar, and then we cover them with the previously prepared brine. Seal the jars with lids and store in the pantry for safekeeping. They can be served immediately after preparation if desired.
