The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) explained on its website that blueberries contain more antioxidants compared to most other types of fruits and vegetables.

It may help prevent damage caused by cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s.

Research indicates that adding half a cup of fresh blueberries daily to an average healthy diet doubles the level of antioxidants in the body.

Blueberries are a great source of vitamin C and fiber, and contain almost no fat, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

It may lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of inflammation.

Preparation and storage

Blueberries can be stored in the refrigerator for up to six months. Make sure to wash it immediately before eating it.
