The summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is taking place in Minsk on November 23. It will be attended by the presidents of the five countries participating in the association – Alexander Lukashenko (Belarus), Vladimir Putin (Russia), Kassym-Jomart Tokayev (Kazakhstan), Emomali Rahmon (Tajikistan) and Sadyr Japarov (Kyrgyzstan).
Emomali Rakhmon and Sadyr Japarov arrived in Minsk the day before and met with Alexander Lukashenko in an informal setting. Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Belarus today, November 23. Among the leaders of the CSTO countries, only Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan did not come to the summit in Minsk, as became known earlier.
It is planned that in a limited meeting the heads of state will discuss current problems of international and regional security and sum up the results of the CSTO’s activities in the intersessional period. The presidents will hear information from the CSTO Secretary General and exchange views. It is expected that following the summit, the leaders of the countries will sign the Declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council, reports BELTA.
