The head of the Senate is running out of patience. He wants information from Mynář about the state of the president

“We are concerned that the current state of health allows the President of the Republic to exercise his office. We expect from the Office of the President of the Republic general information that will enable us to maintain due respect and sensitivity towards the President and his family. She has not done enough in this regard yet, so we are asking her, “said Vystrčil on Tuesday.

President Miloš Zeman was hospitalized on Sunday at the Central Military Hospital (ÚVN), where an ambulance with a mobile ICU brought him in a state of disrepair. Now the president’s condition is stable and he is in the clinic of anesthesia, resuscitation and intensive care, where he is cared for by a team of medics specializing in intensive care.

Due to the absence of Zeman’s consent, the hospital cannot provide more detailed information about the diagnosis or the condition of the head of state. Prague Castle does not provide sufficient information for a long time, which results in uncertainty and many speculations about Zeman’s condition.

The Senate will decide whether Zeman is able to perform the function

Due to this, Senator Zdeněk Hraba (STAN) announced on Twitter on Monday that a Senate Constitutional Commission would meet on October 19 to discuss whether there were grounds for activating Article 66 of the Constitution, according to which the President of the Republic could be declared incapable.

According to him, if the president could not perform his function, the functioning of constitutional functions would be paralyzed.

Due to health problems, Zeman still did not comment on the results of the weekend parliamentary elections. Through his spokesman Jiří Ovčáček, he only congratulated the winners on Twitter, he did not explicitly mention them. Post-election talks on the formation of the government were to begin on Wednesday, when the president was to meet with the prime minister and head of the ANO movement, Andrej Babiš, but the meeting was postponed indefinitely.
