Washington intends to provide Kyiv with everything necessary to protect the sovereign territory of Ukraine, Austin said.
The United States is ready to provide Ukraine with all the necessary weapons and help it succeed in the war against Russia. This was stated by the head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin on press conferences on Monday, June 14th.
Thus, the US Secretary of Defense answered the question of journalists about the request of the Ukrainian side for 1000 howitzers and 300 MLRS.
“We’re focused on making sure we give them what they need to protect their sovereign territory,” Austin said.
At the same time, he emphasized that not only Washington, but also its partners around the world are ready to help Kyiv, and emphasized that this assistance is effective because Ukrainian fighters have been trained by Western instructors since 2014 – from the United States, Britain and Canada.
According to Austin, the third meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Advisory Group, Ramstein-3, will take place soon, at which participants will consider whether “they are providing everything necessary for Ukraine so that it can reliably defend itself in the coming months and years, including from unjustified and an unprovoked Russian attack.”
Recall that earlier the Office of the President reported that information about the arrival of the first batch American weapons under Lend-Lease will appear by the end of June.
