The President of the Republic, HE Mr. Alassane Ouattara, met the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Catherine Colonna, on Friday 9 December 2022.
The exchanges focused on strengthening the excellent cooperative relations between Côte d’Ivoire and France, as well as on regional and international issues, in particular the fight against terrorism, maritime piracy and a number of trafficking.
Ms. Colonna reaffirmed her country’s willingness to continue supporting the emergence of the Ivory Coast and her faith in our country’s potential.
He highlighted France’s actions in the economic, industrial and new technologies sectors with start-ups, but also in the education and training sector.
Referring to the cooperation in the field of defense and security between the two countries, Dr. Catherine Colonna welcomed the construction of the International Academy for Combating Terrorism in Jacqueville, which has made it possible to train specialists from many countries of the Region in the fight against terrorism.
In conclusion, the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs underlined the perfect convergence of views between the Ivory Coast and France on various issues and the willingness of the two countries to work together to face the current challenges.
